Our Board
Meet our dedicated Board of Directors who lead the Friends of Schneider Children’s Hospital of Israel. These valued individuals devote their time and expertise to contribute our hospital through fundraising programs and philanthropic initiatives.
Israel Makov
President
Israel Makov was appointed President of Friends of Schneider Children’s in January 2008. Previously, he served as President and CEO of Teva Pharmaceuticals and is currently Chairman of Given Imaging and Biolight Life Sciences Investments Ltd.
Ronen Tov
Chairman, Executive Committee
Ronen Tov was appointed Chairman of the Executive Committee of Friends of Schneider Children’s in June 2011 and chairs the association’s Investments Committee. In August 2013 he was appointed Deputy CEO and Chairman MeitavDash Provident Fund and Pension Ltd.
Members of Our Executive Committee
Our first president was Mrs Ora Herzog, the wife of the President of the State of Israel who served at the time. Now, our Executive Committee is made up of a group of founding members, entrepreneurs and community leaders who serve voluntarily and governs Friends of Schneider.

Dr. Avraham Ortal
CEO at Leumi Partners, with 20 years of experience in a variety of positions in finance. Before joining Leumi Partners, he served as a senior partner at the SKY private equity fund and served as chairman and board member of the fund's portfolio companies. Before that, he served as CEO of a US aerospace industrial company. Avi Ortal holds a master's degree and a doctorate in law from Duke University and a degree in business administration from Kellogg School at Northwestern University. Dr Ortal is a member of the Israel and American Bar Associations.

Director of Administration at Schneider Children’s Medical Center of Israel
Itai Yaffe
Director of Finance at Schneider Children’s Medical Center of Israel
Itai Yaffe, married and father of three, is a resident of Tzur Yitzhak. He has a BA in Economics and Administration from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and an MA in Business Administration from Ben Gurion University of the Negev.
He previously served as the Director of the Economics Unit in the Department of Finance at Schneider Children's, and before that, as an accountant at the Broadcasting Authority and head of finance at the Tango Company.

Our team fosters relationships with potential donors and the hospital’s friends in Israel and around the world. Our team develops resources and raises funds from donors, foundations and other organizations.
